This space exists for one purpose: prayer.
The Prayer Request category at Mission.Discipleship.Earth is a place where believers may bear one another’s burdens, seek the Lord together, and encourage one another through intercession. It is not a debate forum, a counseling office, or a platform for correction. It is a place to come humbly before God.
Scripture reminds us, “Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ” (Galatians 6:2, KJV). Everything below is meant to protect that spirit.
What This Space Is For
-
Sharing prayer requests, both personal and intercessory
-
Offering short prayers, Scripture, and words of encouragement
-
Providing updates and testimonies of God’s faithfulness
-
Standing together in times of need, urgency, or thanksgiving
What This Space Is Not For
To keep this place focused and reverent, please refrain from:
-
Preaching sermons or correcting theology in prayer threads
-
Debating doctrine, politics, or opinions
-
Giving medical, legal, or professional advice
-
Turning prayer requests into arguments or comment battles
-
Pressuring others to share details they are not comfortable sharing
Prayer threads are not classrooms or comment sections. They are altars.
How to Post a Prayer Request
-
Please keep one request per topic
-
Share only what you are comfortable making public
-
If the situation changes, post updates in the same thread
-
If your request becomes urgent, note that clearly in the title
If a request is sensitive, discretion is encouraged. God hears the heart even when words are few.
How to Respond to a Prayer Request
When responding, aim for simplicity and grace:
-
Short prayers are welcome
-
Scripture is welcome
-
Encouragement is welcome
Avoid long explanations, corrections, or side discussions. Let prayer remain the focus.
Urgent Requests
Urgent or time-sensitive requests are welcome. These may involve emergencies, hospitalizations, or immediate needs. When the urgency passes, updates or praise reports are encouraged.
Praise Reports & Answered Prayer
We strongly encourage praise reports.
If God has answered, provided, healed, or given peace, please share it. Testimony strengthens faith and reminds us that prayer is not spoken into the void.
“O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.” (Psalm 107:1, KJV)
Moderation & Care
Moderators may step in to:
-
Redirect discussions that drift away from prayer
-
Close threads that become argumentative or disruptive
-
Protect the privacy and dignity of those requesting prayer
This is done not to silence, but to safeguard the spirit of the space.
A Final Word
We are guests here before God.
Let us speak with humility, listen with compassion, and pray with faith. Whether your words are many or few, the Lord hears.
“The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” (James 5:16, KJV)
